Atlantis

Atlantis, a fantastic city, dwelled on the ocean floor, A city of light and splendor, that dazzled forever more, What happened to this fantastic city, We do not know? It totally disappeared from site, as if engulfed by a big black hole, It left us to wonder, with speculation, Did this city vanish into thin air, with all of its population? A city of great splendor and wealth, and architecture galore, Makes us wonder, will we too disappear from sight, And vanish forever more?

A Child

To look into a child’s eyes is like looking into the ocean, What mysteries lie there, what magic, those eyes may put a spell on you, like a witch’s potion, Their hearts are new, innocent, and kind, Discipline is necessary, for a child should mind, To fail to discipline a child, does the child absolutely no good, What tears a parent may shed, if the child ends up in the hood, We should protect our children with discipline and love, These guidelines are not ours, they were sent from above, These directions were sent from one, who is greater than we, He says to discipline or the child might never see, The child may never see the world as it should br seen, Without guidance, one may end up behind bars, where the people are mean, Love and Discipline, that is the key, Because we want our children to be all that they can be.

A beautiful lady with the wind in her name, So many lives she touched, and thus, we will never be the same, Fame and fortune were Hers, for it was her claim, But sadly, these gifts only added to her pain, If only we had realized, and done our part, Maybe she would be here, and not just in our hearts, A princess she was, although we did not see, How cruel and unkind, this world can be, A princess she was, with all of her beauty and grace, For she never showed the sadness, hidden behind her face, God must have truly loved her, to have suddenly called her home, He must have needed her in his city, where the angels and she, will now roam, Love and peace, she will have finally found, We will miss her greatly, but thanks to her baby girl, she will always be around.

Dearest Anna

Dearest Anna, what happened to you was truly a shame, And it is only the pharmaceuticals companies who are to blame, Pharmaceutical companies, they are at fault, Some medications should be locked up within a vault, Medications, they do kill, Innocent lives, they do steal, People are unaware of what they are taking, They do not realize what a big mistake they could be making, Upon the drugs their cares, they do cast, Not knowing that this time, could be their last, The pharmaceutical field, is all about money and greed, Many innocent people have died indeed, It is not your fault that your son died, If we could only take back the tears, that you have cried, Many other mothers have cried the same. You and your son did not have to die in vain, So even in death you will still speak a most important cause, Maybe because of you there will be some new laws,

We thank you for leaving us with beautiful Dannielynn, For she does brighten the world and put on our face a grin, Now, only in memory can we see, The beautiful person and mother that you were, and always will be.

My Baby Girl

My baby girl, I didn’t get the chance to say, How much joy you brought to me, each and every day, I am with you always, look in the mirror and you will see, A beautiful young lady, you will one day be, I will be with you when you lose your first tooth, I’ll be there at your first dance recital, sitting in the very first booth, I’ll be with you, when you the marching band, And if you’re afraid, just know that I am there, beside you, holding your hand, I’ll be with you, when you look that someone special in the eye, And on your wedding day I’ll be watching you from the sky, Although you can only see me, from the television screen, I am watching you from where the streets of gold gleam, I am with you everyday, I am always in your heart, Although you cannot see me, we will never be apart, The joy that you brought to me, nothing can compare, Always strive to reach your goals, if you dare,

I love you very much, for you give my heart a whirl, And always know that you’re my most beautiful, precious, baby girl.

Daddy’s Gone

You were the best Daddy, I ever could have knew, And you had that twinkle in your eye, you were gentle, kind, and true, Why did you have to leave? With a tear in my eye, I didn’t get to see you or tell you goodbye, Your sickness came on way too fast, They thought you would beat it, they thought you would last, But that wasn’t to be so, Of this, we now know, Why does Cancer have to be? It hides in one’s body, wreaking havoc that we cannot see, We cannot see Cancer, often times, until it is too late, But now you shine forever, on the other side of that golden gate, You can play your guitar now, free from the pain, Now in Heaven, another soul, the Lord did gain, I didn’t get to tell you how much I love you, and how you gave my heart a whirl, And that even though I am grown, I will always be, now and forever, your little girl.

Daddy

I sit here saddened by my thoughts and tears, I wish that I could take back, all those years, I watch my favorite movie, and I think about that fateful day, The day that Cancer came and took you away, You had the greatest smile and a twinkle in your eyes, Now you soar with the angels, amidst the endless skies, I will never forget how you were the best Daddy that you could be, I wish that you could say, the same thing about me, I know there were times when I didn’t call, Times when I was down and out, and backed up against a wall, I know I disappointed you, as well as myself, Now all I can do is stare at your picture, sitting upon my shelf, I am sorry that I didn’t get there fast enough, on the day you died, And I am sorry that you didn’t get to be, as in my favorite movie, Father of the Bride.

Don’t Drink & Drive

Don’t drink & drive, it could cost you your life, An innocent family could lose a loved one, a son, a daughter, a husband, or a wife, I know that drink tasted good at the time, Many people get drunk on beer, liquor, and wine, Yes, we should not drink and drive, And on this cause, we should continue to strive, The loss of a loved one can be devastating to the heart, For soon, we will hear the words, “till death we do depart”, There is never a second chance when alcohol is the cause, A drunk driver may not even the accident, he may not realize that he’s broken any laws, The law should be changed to protect the innocent, More money should be used in this manner, it would be well spent, Many people are affected when someone dies, A funeral is then necessary, and many tears are shed from the eyes, Pain, suffering, and death can occur when a drunk driver gets behind the wheel, Hand over those keys and feel good about it, then, you will be in less danger of getting mangled by twisted steel,

Strange that in an accident, the drunk driver is seldom hurt, It is usually an innocent soul, who ends up lying beneath the dirt, So please, the next time you go out to dine, Hand over those keys, so that no lives will be lost, and all will be fine.

I AM TRAPPED IN A PRISON THAT NO ONE CAN SEE, INVISIBLE BARS, HOW I WISH THAT I WERE SOMEBODY ELSE, ANYONE BUT ME, NO ONE TO LOVE ME, NO ONE TO CARE, I SIT BEHIND THESE WALLS, AND OUT THE WINDOW I STARE, TO LIFE, MY BROTHER AND I HAVE NOTHING TO GIVE, I WONDER WHY, WE EVEN LIVE, I PLAYED A GAME ABOUT KILLING MYSELF TODAY, ON THIS ISSUE, THERE ISN’T MUCH THAT I HAVE TO SAY, I WISH THAT I COULD UNDERSTAND THE HOWS, THE WHYS, AND THE WHEN, BUT I CAN’T, SINCE I AM ONLY TEN.

Frozen

The hands of time seem to be frozen, I made the wrong choices in the paths that I have chosen, The hands of the clock are frozen in time, The sounds I hear no more, as the clock will no longer chyme, Frozen, I seem to be stuck in this sorrow, But, I keep hoping for a brighter tomorrow, Time stands still as does my soul, I long to live, I long to be whole, A part of me is missing, But I will keep on wishing, Wishing for brighter days and sweeter nights, I fight to be happy with all my might, A part of me is gone and I do not know know which part, Days of hardship have wore me down and stolen my heart, Frozen and lifeless I seem to be, I wonder will I ever be happy? Will I ever be free?

God Showed Me Something

God showed me something, and it was a wonderful sight to see, He showed me what happens when we die, and what we are to be, We trade in our old body, in exchange for something new, And that we should not be sad, or cry, or be blue, We become young again, energized, and full of life, Yes, we leave this world that is full of sadness and strife, There’s no more tears and no more pain, We have nothing to lose, and everything to gain, There is no pain when we take that last breath, So don’t be sad or afraid, when we are laid to rest, There is no reason to run and hide, For there is twice to live, and once to have died, In the twinkling of an eye we are changed forever, For this world we should not tether, For we are only here for a split second in time, I hope these words help you to see, in this poem and rhyme.

Grandmother

I took a walk today, I didn’t know where I was going, As I was walking along, it started snowing, The flakes fell soft and gently to the ground, And I felt a feeling of peace, as I looked around, There was a mist, a feeling and smell of freshness in the air, And the snowflakes were so beautiful, I couldn’t help but stare, As each one fell and then quickly went away, For it was not cold enough yet, to make them stay, It brings me back to a younger time, I think of my grandma’s snow cream, and how she was so kind, Everything she did, she did to please, She had a grace about her and she did everything with ease, She was the best when she was in the kitchen, that’s for sure, We lost her to an illness, of which there was no cure, She bore ten children, two of which didn’t live, This left eight, of which all her love, she did give, Grandma, you left and there was so much I didn’t say, I didn’t know that that, was our last day,

I wish I could tell you that I love you, and that you’ll always be in my heart, Why did the Lord take you? Why did we have to part? Never again to see you, many words that I wish, that I could have said, Why did you have to leave us and the dead, You were the kindest person that I ever knew, When I was little you helped me to learn to tie my shoe, My dearest grandmother why can’t you be here? For you made my days brighter, you always filled me with cheer, But I know that you’ll be in heaven, and there you will dwell, I can only hope one day to see you there, for that would be really swell, I will try to follow in your footsteps, as I think about you each day, I love you grandmother, always, and in my heart you’ll stay.

In Memory-Flight 93

Little did you know that day, that there would be a light, A light like you have never seen before, on that very last flight, With beautiful blue skies that were crisp and clear, Little did you know that the end was near, Your bravery was strong as you spoke to your mother’s heart, Your own heart filled with pain and fear, much to soon for you to depart, Such good souls to have saved our Country, on this day, Imagine what might have happened, if it had went the other way, Three of the four planes had hit their mark, You became heroes that day, and a new path to the stars you did chart, Heroes you are, each and every one of you, Terrorists had sealed your fate, destined to die, as you flew, You fought to the end with all of your strength, courage, glory, and might, But now you stand in God’s presence, in the inner circle of light.

Karen Carpenter

A beautiful lady with the gift of song, A voice so sweet and sincere, that even men want to sing along, Songs written from the heart and full of love, Sweet melodies that echo, as if carried on the wings of a dove, She died of a lonely heart at the young age of 32, Sadness and loneliness were her only friends, we all know this to be true, Her face never showed the pain, that was hidden behind the mask, A life of being alone, like a pirate sailing solo, with the ship’s flag at half-staff, Always searching and hoping, but never finding what the heart longs for, Sailing on alone forever, she stops at every port, and wonders, just exactly what does she live for, She searches and waits for the great love of her life, A man with a good heart, who will love her and hold her tight, For she had too much love to give, And that is why, she didn’t live, Her music lit up the world for everyone, but not for her, she sings of this in one of her songs, The darkness can drown out the light, when you’re all alone, The days of darkness must have been endless, or so it would seem,

But now she lives in a city of light that shines on forever, and the streets of gold gleam, The music world lost a legend on the day that she died, For there would never be another Karen, and on this day, we all cried, Only the angels hear her music now, ashes to ashes and to dust we do part, For this world lost Karen to another, for she died of a lonely heart.

Lookout Mountain

To live on a mountain is like living by the sea, The flowers and the trees, are moved by a force that we cannot see, The creatures and the animals scurry about, busy as a bee, What is it like to live on a mountain, you ask? Well, I tell you, the air is fresh and clean, and the wide open spaces vast, The people are sincere, honest, and kind, For a friend up here, would go out of his way to help you, and he won’t even mind, Life goes at a fast pace, and city people should slow down, They should go to a mountain to rest and relax, a place of solitude, where peace can be found, I love this mountain, for it is dear to my heart, I’m not alone on this issue, for the people here and this mountain, will probably never part, Yes, I have left many times, But, I always come back to this place, where time seems to stand still, and the people are kind, What else can I say about this mountain, for it is beautiful in every way, On your next vacation come here, for there are plenty of places to stay.

I CAME TO YOU ON ONE SPECIAL DAY, WITH A VERY IMPORTANT MESSAGE IT WAS, THAT I HAD TO SAY, I WAS VERY YOUNG WHEN I STARTED OUT, AND I WAS SO BUSY, I DIDN’T HAVE TIME TO CRY OR POUT, I WAS BLESSED WITH MY OWN, QUALITIES AND STYLE, BUT MOSTLY, I JUST WANTED TO MAKE PEOPLE SMILE, I WANTED TO HELP, IN ANY WAY THAT I COULD, I AM A QUIET PERSON WHO OFTEN GETS MISUNDERSTOOD, BUT I CAME ALIVE WHEN ON STAGE, AND I LOVED ALL PEOPLE, OF ALL RACE AND AGE, YES, I GAVE, TO, 39 CHARITIES IN ALL, AND NO TASK WAS TOO GREAT, NO MATTER HOW BIG OR SMALL, I WANTED YOU TO SEE, THAT YOU TOO, COULD CAPTURE ALL OF YOUR DREAMS, AND NEVER GIVE UP TRYING, NO MATTER, HOW HARD IT SEEMS, SO, WHAT IS IN THIS FINAL MESSAGE THAT I HAVE TO SAY?

I NEVER MEANT TO LEAVE YOU, AND THOSE I LOVE, IN THIS KIND OF WAY.

I feel your heart in the songs that you sing, The music is so beautiful, like a violin, with its strings, Weekend in New England is my favorite song, I can’t help but want to sing along, All of your songs I do treasure, Your words are beautiful, beyond measure, You have a true gift that God has given you, Your gift brings about emotions, some make us happy, some make us blue, I wish others could feel the ion that your songs bring about in me, It’s sad that not everyone knows your music, for then, they also might see, They might see an open heart and a willingness to give, For someone in despair, your music might give them, the will to live, For you do not know the impact your music has on us, For me, it helps to put me in a more uplifted mood, then I’m less likely to fuss, However, it may affect someone else in a different way, In whatever the case, it sure brightens the world and helps us to have a better day, We might wonder, Mr. Manilow, which song is your favorite, which one is it?

Whatever the song is we hope to hear it in person, Tell us Mr. Manilow, when might you visit?

Music

Music, such sweet melodies, as if sent from above, The symphonic sounds whisper softly, as if carried on the wings of a dove, Some melodies are sweet and soft, very gentle on the ear, Some melodies are crisp, clear, and loud, very easy to hear, Music can change your world and make butterflies appear, Some music can make you sad and bring forth a tear, Instruments make beautiful music that sounds so sweet, All I want to do is dance up on my feet, The guitar, with its strings in tow, makes beautiful melodies, as does the violin, with its bow, The piano with its keys so fine, Makes my heart want to sing along as the melodies chime, The harp, the cello, the organ, each instrument with its own unique individual sound, Plays a variety of music, too wonderful to ever be bound, Music is a true gift, the gift of song, I don’t have this gift, so I just sing along, No, I’m not a musician if you must know,

The only thing I can do well, is to play the radio.

My Prince Wills

I saw you from afar and instantly I knew, A love burst forth from my heart, a love that is kind, patient,and true, That sparkle in your eye, it really made me smile, I knew one day that I would meet you, but that I would have to wait awhile, For we were young and you didn’t know, That I was waiting for you, throughout the summers and the snow, I watched the flowers bloom and the snowflakes fall, As you grew very handsome, sweet, and tall, I knew that you were my great love, there would never be anyone else for me, And now my dreams have come true for the whole world to see, I now stand before you in a gown of white, And I am honored to be, your friend, love, and wife.

My Sweet Knight

Sometimes naughty, sometimes nice, I wonder in silence, will I ever get it right? I try so hard, amazingly it seems, to catch and capture all of my dreams, I dream of a white horse and on his back a great knight, He carries his sword gracefully, with all his strength, glory, and might, A lady awaits him, in a long flowing gown, and atop her head sits a beautiful, jeweled crown, He races to her, for she is his great love, She sings to him sweetly, as if carried on the wings of a dove, There is no greater love in these two hearts, in life and in death, never will they part, Yes, I am a daydreamer, as you can tell, I dream great dreams in my heart, and there, they are kept well, Time is of the essence, of that I know, I hope for true love to find me, amidst the snow, For winter is drawing near, and soon the cold will be here, Holidays will be upon us, and hearts will be filled with cheer, Amongst the presents, bows, and the mistletoe I hope to stand, Hoping that my sweet knight will be there, holding my hand, As time runs out and the future draws near, I try not to realize my deepest fears,

Fears of a lonely heart for the rest of my life, never having been loved, and a life full of turmoil, grief, and strife, Where is mercy, I do not know, hidden somewhere I guess, amidst the winter snow, I pray for peace and joy to come into my heart, I pray for a new life, and a new path to chart, I pray for my sweet knight to come and rescue me, with flowers in hand, he will bend on his knee, Like an angel he will save me, heart and soul, he will forever love me and make me whole, So I will wait for my sweet knight, patiently and true, For until that day comes, that is all that I can do.

Princess Diana

A lady in waiting, in waiting, to be queen, Introduced to us, at the young age of nineteen, She stood pleasant and poised, in a gown of white, An earthly beauty indeed, such a lovely sight, We didn’t know what joy she would bring, She did a good work and made the angels sing, A princess she was, full of beauty and grace, It was a beautiful sight, to see a smile on her face, Her destiny was great, and so was the pain, She bore two sons, of which one day will reign, Season after season, she kept on going, She did her work, and it didn’t matter if it was raining or snowing, She was so lovely, and taken much too soon, She was loved greatly, from here to the moon. She was the perfect mother, filled with kindness and love, She had a purity about her, such as that of a dove, She had a special love for her sons, and for their happiness there was no price that she wouldn’t pay,

If only we could all be like her, the world, would be more okay, For she always went about, doing good, Even when times were hard, she went on, let’s not let that be misunderstood, Yes, we all could learn from this lady’s dream, Yes, we could all learn from this lady, destined to be queen.

I look at you as you walk on by, but you don’t look my way, I keep hoping that you will find me, will this be my lucky day, I keep hoping for someone to take me home, And thus the streets, I will no longer roam, In the summer it’s so hot, the sun burns my feet, In the winter it’s so cold, and I usually have nothing to eat, Lost and alone I wander, feeling no love, I pray, in my doggie way, to the great Lord above, Please see me, as you walk on by, I will be your greatest friend, just give it a try, I will be there to protect you, when you need me, I will be your best companion, all you have to do is love and feed me, So please see me when you look my way, And take me home so that I will have a place to stay.

As the Angel stood beside your bed, Into the light you were silently led, Never again to see the light of your face, Into Heaven you went, to take your place, How could we know that you were to go, As you left us, it quietly began to snow, You had a pure heart, of this we knew, For someone in need there was nothing, that you wouldn’t do, The twinkle in your eyes told us all, Never again, will you have to fall, No matter how many times you were knocked down, You always had plenty of love, to go around, There will never be another Ed Wooten, that’s true, I only wish that I could have told you one more time, how much I love you.

The Cry Of The Soldier

I enlisted in the military, although now I don’t know why, If only I had known the tears, that my family would cry, I thought I was doing good, as I made my way across the sea, I didn’t know that I would lose, the biggest part of me, I saw things that a soldier, should never have to face, And now my mind is a prison, filled with terror and nightmares, in its space, Where do I go, when there is no one to lend an ear? Is this me in this body, filled with desperation and fear? This can’t be me, I am supposed to be brave, All I can do now is watch from afar, as you sit beside my grave, Yes, I did the unthinkable, I couldn’t deal with all the strife, And I am so sorry, for what I felt I had to do, as I took my own life, I see your tears, from where I sit in the sky, If only I could say to you, “Please don’t cry”, Every hour and a half, a soldier ends his or her own life, This could be your mother, father, sister, brother, husband, or wife, What can we do to cause this to end? We must stop this war, and let this country mend,

But, the soldier has no voice, so their cries cannot be heard, Someone must speak for them, someone must speak their word, This wasn’t supposed to happen, I shouldn’t be here among the dead, I should be at home, happy, and sleeping in my bed, So people wake up, speak up, and yes, you must be brave, Or else it might be you next time, sitting beside your soldier’s grave.

The Lost Orphan

I am lost and I have nowhere to turn, Some people have it all, some have money to burn, But me, I have nothing, I barely have any clothes, and no shoes on my feet, Most of the time I have very little food, usually I have nothing to eat, All I have is a few dreams that float around in my head, Dreams of my mother and father, who are now dead, I am an orphan now, can’t you see? I wish that I were somebody else, anyone but me, Why do I live? Why do I stand? I wish there was someone to hold my hand, I say my prayers to the God above, As I sit here day after day, feeling no love, I pray for God to send me, someone who is kind and true, I need someone to help me, tell me, will that someone be you?

A day in which the earth stood still, Innocent people were held, against their will, We didn’t see it coming, on this day, We didn’t know that so many innocent lives would be lost, in this way, Like a bolt of lightning from the sky, The towers fell and many died, What stories would have been told, if only they had lived to tell, And in an instant they were sent to a place, where they would forever dwell, Innocent lives changed forever, in just one moment in time, But, now they live forever, in a city that shines, We wonder why this happened, why we, were put to the test? Although, we will never know the answer, we must , that God only takes the best!

The Flea Market

The Flea market is a special place, so I’ve been told, Where one may find a treasure, it might be new or it might be old, A customer may walk around seeking treasures to find, A vendor may sit for hours, bored out of his mind, Everyone comes to the flea market, from all walks of life, Some come to shop, and some come to escape from some sort of strife, You’ll see people of all ages and race, and animals so small that they take up very little space, A flea market can be big or small, or even go for miles, Happy people walk around with their bags full of treasures, and faces full of smiles, A flea market is best if held on a sunny day, But, if you get rained out just say “Oh well” and hit the hay, You can make new friends; just out of the blue they’ll appear, Friendships that can last a lifetime, and help to make those blues disappear, Whatever the reason that brings you to the flea market today, Just have a good time and don’t forget your pay, So take home those treasures and trinkets that make you smile, For that’s what makes the flea market worthwhile.

The Looking Glass

As I sat beyond the Looking glass, wondering what was on the other side, I thought to myself, what secrets does the mirror hide? The glass can show lots of things, great and small, It can even show scary things, don’t be afraid to fall! The reflection of the soul can be seen, or so I’ve been told, I’d look to see for myself, if only I were as bold, There is no time in the Looking glass, for time stands still, Like the grains of sand on the ocean front, that are forever stuck in time, and kept in place against their will, The Looking glass has no boundaries in space or dimension, that I can see, I wonder, is there someone on the other side, looking back at me? The glass keeps all of our secrets locked away in a secret hiding place, A place of fantasy and dreams, of which we cannot go, for there is no space, The keys to the heart and soul are kept there as well,

I wish that I could go there, that would be swell, Fantasy, wishes, magic, this can all be true, Once you enter the Looking glass, your life becomes anew.

To Be

What happened to me as I sit here alone, I tried to make a life but now everything is gone, I try to be happy as I try to write, But people do mean things, sometimes just for spite, Where is the kindness in this world, I ask? Somewhere where it can’t be found, it must be wearing a mask, I do not see you, are you nice or mean? The loneliness is unbearable and I just want to scream, I try to put on a smile, but, it’s a disguise, If you want to see how I really feel just look into my eyes, My eyes change from brown to green, There are many mysteries there, that go unseen, Like the waters of the ocean that are forever deep, Some secrets I share, and some I do keep, My life is a mystery to some, but not to me, I wonder, will I ever be at a place, where I can just, be?

To Die

What happens to us when we die? Do we go to a new home far away up in the sky? Or do we go to a place down below? A place where we could only wish to have the chance to see the snow, A place where there are no flowers and trees, A place where we wish that we had spent more time on our knees, A place of forever is where we will dwell, A place that we call heaven or hell, A place of permanent residency, A place that all of us one day will see, So what can we do today to change tomorrow, What can we do to escape the forth-coming sorrow, For if we make the wrong choice the stage will be set, For hell is a bad place on that you can bet, Hell is real, as one-third of the angels would say, As for Satan himself, boy is he going to pay, The Lord made the rules and it is that, that we must live by, Because if we don’t we can lose our soul and we only get one try,

Wake up people it’s time to see, The rules are carved in stone and not in some tree, He chose stone to make them last forever, Is your house built on the rock where it can tether, If not you will blow in the wind like some weed, You won’t be able to stand because you didn’t sow the right seed,

So what is your life like? Is it filled with love or hate? What’s wrong with you, didn’t you read the writing on the slate? Hate and evil come strictly from the devil, If you’re not living your life for God you may as well bury yourself with a shovel, So exactly what does living for God mean? It means being kind and loving toward others always, how does that seem? It means living by the 10 commandants and putting God first, After all it is only our body that ends up lying beneath the dirt, Our soul will go on to eternity and to forever where it will dwell, So you only get one chance what will it be heaven or hell?

To Give

A BLOOD DONOR

The Blood of Life, for that is what you give, You give up some of you, so that others may live, A blood donor, that is what you are, But in someone’s eyes, you are a shining star, Whether it be an accident or a victim of disease, me that jar of blood, if you please, For in that instant a life was saved, This might not be, if you had not gave, As you sit there, with that needle in your arm, Be thankful that you could help someone, and it did you very little harm, The people that work here, they do a good job as well, They always treat you nice and kind, and that is really swell, So sometimes when you think that it is not worthwhile, Just that whether you are a worker or a donor, you made someone smile.

Too Many Walls

Walls can be in plain sight, or sometimes they can’t be seen, I do not see you, are you nice or mean? Walls can take you to a place that you have never been, A prison can be in your mind, of this you cannot mend, Some things cannot be fixed, or so they say, I wish only for one good day, But my day didn’t come today, will it come tomorrow? I sit here surrounded by walls, swallowed up in sorrow, I no longer feel anything, no smiles upon my face, I long to find my home in this world, I long to find my place, Trapped in this prison I feel like death, No happiness, no joy, for there is nothing left, I ask you, are you like me? Trapped in a prison with too many walls that no one else can see.

What Lies?

What lies beyond the heavens above? With skies so high you can fly like a dove, What lies beyond the ocean floor? The very center of the earth at its core, What lies at the center of a flower? The birth place of beauty, especially when blessed by a rain shower, What lies beyond the human heart? The soul that when touched upon by a soul mate, will never part, For love is at the center of everything that is real, Stronger than iron, and stronger than steel, What lies beyond love is the center of the universe, This is where God lives, if you want to get to know Him, just read the Bible, verse by verse.

The Dark Hours

The dark hours came into my life, some time ago, Darkness and days of sadness, they did bestow, As you flip these pages, you will learn about me, My thoughts and feelings, that no one could see, So I went away, for a long while, I didn’t want anyone to see me, when I couldn’t smile, You will see how the darkness crept into my life, It took away my joy, and filled me with strife, Years have disappeared, and the only thing I had was this pen, I am still waiting for the joy, I can only wonder, when, When will my day come, I am still waiting for this, Waiting for days of happiness and bliss, A writer writes, they always say, I wonder, haven’t I paid the price, on this day, I now know, what happened to me, It wasn’t my fault, why can’t I just be? Do You Know?

Do you know what it’s like to be a man inside? Do you know what it’s like when there is nowhere to hide? Do you know what it’s like to change like the weather? Do you know what it is like to blow in the storm with no where to tether? Do you know what it’s like to stand in the eye? When all you can do is let out a sigh? Do you know what it’s like to feel as if you can’t breathe? What to do when your life is caught up in the web you did weave, Do you know what it is like to stand on the mountain top? Without an ounce of goodness, would you just please stop? Go away this evil man that you are, Oh, how I wish that I could wish upon a falling star, So go away this person that you came to be, Why oh why, did it have to be me? I ask you if you have ever felt like me? When the tears come down so hard that you cannot see, So I sit here looking out upon the snow, I will ask you again, Do you know?

Fallen Angels

The Angels came to see me again today, I wish that they had continued on and went, about their way, Although I cannot see their body, nor their face, Surely it must be their evil, and not me in this body and space, They seek to destroy me, and kill me if they could, These Angels are very real and, not to be misunderstood, Cunning and mean, they lie in wait, Instilling in you feelings of rage and hate, For you see these are not the Angels that we thought, They were tricked by Lucifer and thus they were caught, They were caught and now know that they were wrong, They will dwell with Lucifer forever and that is where they belong, He has them to do his dirty work, And He sits back and laughs at us, and on his face a nasty smirk, When the Angels come things are dark and bleak, I cannot think right and mean things I do speak, I lash out at anyone who comes into my path, I suffer great and I will suffer even greater from God’s wrath,

They fill my life with darkness and sin, unworthy of heaven and doomed to hell, There is no doubt as to where I will dwell, Only a miracle can save me from the doom, It’s no wonder I wander around in a shroud of gloom, Could God ever forgive someone like me? For letting those Angels manipulate me? I say, do, and think the most horrible things, I dread to one day see what judgement day brings, So I pray that God has mercy on my soul, And that one day He will heal me and make me whole, So I sit here and think of what will become of my day, I can only hope that the Angels will go on, and go the other way.

I Wonder

They say it is the darkest just before dawn, I wonder, how much longer can I go on? My heart aches for love, but, I know it is not to be, There is no love for me and no carvings on any tree, It seems that my dreams are always out of reach, Loneliness and despair are my only friends, on this matter I could easily teach, I wonder why some have it all and some don’t. Yesterday I cried, but at this moment I won’t, The tears that I have shed could fill buckets like rain, No one knows my heart, no one knows this pain, The days, the weeks, the years, they have all gone by so fast, What does tomorrow hold, what does the future forecast? The future has to be better than this, Please let there be some happiness for me, maybe even a kiss, A kiss would be nice, a wedding even better still, But this is not to be, for my heart they did kill, Trampled upon and cut down like a piece of wheat, My heart and spirit drained of energy, stomped upon by your feet,

I try to be uplifted, I try to be strong, But my soul is weak and my strength is all gone, I long for my home but, it seems that all is lost, My family is gone, but my friends I will hold onto at all costs, It seems that I always write about sorrow when I pick up the pen, I wonder when all this will end, I can’t help but wonder, when, oh when.

Lost Soul

I am a lost soul with endless freedom to roam, I am waiting for my soul mate, for thus we will make a home, The days are endless are the nights are long, but I keep waiting patiently, trying to be strong, What’s wrong with me, I ask myself? I’m smart and kind, yet, like a rag doll, I sit upon the shelf, No arms to hold me, no kisses to feel, alone and lonely, I feel like such a heel, True love is an illusion they say, Always out of reach, and at a high price that no one can pay, Love is supposed to be free, when oh when will there be someone to love me? I have paid the price; I have paid my share, yet, here I sit alone, with no one to care, I should be used to the silence, for I’ve had years to learn, But sometimes the silence becomes unbearable and I have nowhere to turn, The silence can be deafening they say, I know that’s true, As I sit here sad and lonely in a room full of blue, I daydream about the future all day and night, And in my dreams I know that everything will be all right, I will dream about the days when I will roam no more,

For one day my lover will come, and I will be happy forever more.

Once Again

Once again, I sit here alone, Thinking to myself, once again, I roam, The road that I have traveled pains my feet, I wish that I could find a home, that would be sweet, The family that I love, once again, are gone, They say it is the darkest just before the dawn, The nights they , so long and dreary, The days are short, and I am so weary, Death won’t come and the suffering continues, The blues come in all shades, as if, off of a menu, I sit in silence and my thoughts grow dull, There is only a shell left, nothing on the inside, only a hull, My heart longs to feel joy, happiness, and love, But, this is only an illusion, not quite sent from above, What awaits for me here on this earth? I do not know as I sit amidst the murk, I know that one day love will find me, surely it will, Until then, I’ll keep on trodding my path, it sure is hard, because it’s all uphill.

The Snake & The Snow

What is there to live for? I ask myself? Like a rag doll I sit here alone, upon the shelf, I wish that I would die, for there is nothing joyful that I see, I wish that I were someone else, anyone but me, For you see there is an illness that crept up upon me, Like a snake in the grass it came up and bit me, Now I am changed forever, and I cannot go back, Now my world is silent and mostly black, What was gone is lost forever, and it cannot be retrieved, How, that snake bit me and I was deceived, My life was stolen from me, and I was taken to the pit of hell, A hell that is very real, here, on this Earth where I dwell, Nothing that I could ever imagine, could bring so much pain, I wish that I could just disappear, fly away as if on a plane, That snake bit me, and kept right on going, It was snowing outside, and it kept right on snowing, The snake and the snow went on, about their way, That bite had changed me forever, and and ruined my day,

Since then, very few good days come, but they always go, Now my life is empty with very little to show, So I sit here and I think about what I didn’t know, As I watch the flakes fall silently, amongst the snake and the snow.

Why?

The depression is so bad now that it makes me afraid, There is no one to turn to because no one had stayed, Everyone left me long ago, Left with only their footprints against the snow, It seems that I live my days in the dark, With no where to lay my head, no where to park, I drive and I drive but the streets are all dark and cold, If only there was someone there, if only I had a hand to hold, I feel as though I shouldn’t be here, why do I live? There is nothing left of me, nothing more can I give, What is my purpose in this life? I can’t seem to find it amongst the grief and strife, Why won’t things ever change, why can’t it for once go my way? Why can’t I see the sunshine instead of darkness on this day? Why do I continue to ask myself why? Why do the tears never stop that I do cry? Why can’t anyone come knocking on my door? If I were dead it would take days before anyone ever noticed me lying on the

floor, The only thing I am good at is writing about how I feel, Sometimes it is dangerous when I get behind the wheel, I feel like slamming my car into a tree or a telephone pole, Who do I have to thank for my life that was stole, I can only imagine what a good life would be like, I picture myself out in the sunshine flying a kite, Why can’t I dream anymore? Why do I feel as though life is one big chore? Why is it that some have it all and some have none? How long must I wait until it is my time to have won? I don’t have the answers to the questions that I ask, My heart is all bound up as if in a cast, When will the day come when I will seek no more, Only One has the answers and he sits on that heavenly shore, Are there others like me who wish for that good day, I guess all we can do is pray, after all, that is what God would say.
