2013 Environmental Objectives & Targets Objective

Target Energy

Reduce energy/electrical consumption via heating, air conditioning, ventilation, and lighting operational adjustments, retrofits, and technology upgrades. Recent accomplishments include building control system upgrade, variable frequency drives, chiller economizer, demand control ventilation, North & South Tower T-8 lamp and electronic lighting ballast retrofit.

Ongoing; Facilities and IT Goals and Objectives, reduce energy/electrical consumption by 3% from previous year.

Reduce solid waste disposal into landfill via recycling, reuse, and less paper generation. Recycling programs includes single sort paper/metal/plastic, cardboard, batteries, copier toners, printer ink cartridges, computer hardware, and production scrap. Non-recycled trash is reused via local steam plant incineration and power generation to Redstone Arsenal.

Per Facilities and Operations Goals and Objectives, increase solid waste landfill diversion rate of 100%.

Recycle all field returned product and IT scrap equipment

New Updated to reflect 2011 objectives, updated Awareness Training and EMS Policy Training. Correct Header: was showing as 2010 and should have been changed to 2011. Updated to reflect 2013 objectives. Included reference to Sustainability Goals, and added new hire training requirements. Updated the water conservation objective to match with Sustainability’s Goals. Merged recycling goal for IT scrap and field returned product scrap. Included an objective for BBA integration. Review of 2013 Objectives and Targets. Review was delayed due to business needs and waiting on input from the Green Team. 2013 Objectives include increased site assessments. Update 2013 Objectives and Targets to reflect Green Team 2013 goals.
