Transponder Capacity 1228

TRANSPONDER CAPACITY IN THE INSAT SYSTEM Indian SatCom Status: In India there is a vibrant service segment which utilizes satellite transponder capacity for communications and broadcasting applications such as VSAT, TV, DTH and DSNG in C Band, Ku Band and Extended C Band. Currently, the INSAT System has capacity to the extent of 168 transponders on the INSAT/GSAT series of satellites as well as 94 transponders on lease from foreign satellites. Certain transponder capacity is available for immediate allotment to s as given below:

All s who need transponder capacity are kindly requested to respond, in writing, indicating their requirements in of frequency band, application, orbital slot, date and period of requirement. The preferred orbital slot should be clearly mentioned otherwise it will be presumed that any/multiple orbital slot(s) is acceptable. Applications in the attached format should also include the previous references, if any, and reach before 16:00 IST on September 15, 2012 at the following address: Director, Satellite Communications & Navigation Programme (SCNP), ISRO HQ, Antariksha Bhavan, New BEL Road, Bangalore 560 231. It may be noted that policy matters related to allotment guidelines and pricing are under review by the INSAT Coordination Committee (ICC)/ Government. DOS is attempting to compile an authenticated capacity requirements database, for submission to the ICC, without prejudice to the final decision on capacity allotment guidelines and pricing.
