6400-9004 19” Rack Mounted Time Control Center The 6400 has programmable time and day-of-week referenced control of six output circuits. The 6400 uses a liquid crystal display to show the time, day of week , and the status of the six output circuits. The display is also used for programming, as well as editing and reviewing the stored programs. The state of the six output circuits is programmed by the through a keypad, and can also be controlled by six manual override switches. The can also use the keypad to program from one to four independent schedules at any time within the 6400. All manual control switches and the LCD display are located behind a locked enclosure. The keypad can also be locked and accessed using a .

WIRING: Wiring size and type varies greatly, depending on correction type, voltage used, quantity of clocks, cable distance, local codes, and National Electric Code Class I requirements. Your local Simplex sales representative is equipped to assist you with complete clock design services and wiring specifications.
6400 Display and Circuit Control Switches The display’s normal run mode indicates the time, day of week, circuit status, and what schedules have been selected. When the programming mode has been entered, the display leads the through the programming sequence by flashing what is to be selected. Responses to prompts are entered via the keypad using either the “Yes” or “No” keys.
The six circuit control switches beneath the LCD have three settings: ON, AUTO, and OFF. The ON and OFF settings override the programmed control functions, while the AUTO setting is used to carry out programmed functions. Three control switches at the bottom of the are used to control manual and programmed functions for the 6400. The buttons are provided for power line carrier systems (GEN), synchronous systems (SYNC), and Celestra clocks (BCD). The manual “on/off” control overrides the programmed control functions while the “Auto” position allows programmed functions to occur. Each switch is accompanied by an LED which visually displays the circuit’s status. The 12-Segment Keypad is used to input all programming including setting of the time and date, daylight saving time changes, schedule changes, and selection of 12-hour or 24-hour display format. Keypad entry may be secured by an access code which prevents tampering or unauthorized program modifications.

The 6400-9501 consists of two s. The first , mounted on the front, consists of a manual Adv/Auto/Off override switch and two LEDs to indicate positive (red) and Front negative (yellow) polarity output. The second is the internally mounted I/O board and step-down transformer for connecting field wiring to the 6400 Master Clock.
6400-9502 Coded/Dual Coded Module The 6400-9502 module is used to operate a complete circuit of wired or power line carrier, 6803 coded or 6804 dual coded relays. The 6400 output circuit number one is dedicated to coded relay control, and provides up to 10 programmed control functions on that single circuit. The 10 LEDs indicate selection of the relay addressed during programming and manual control.

6400-9503 Impulse Correction and Coded/Dual Coded Module The 6400-9503 module provides the 6400 with the capability for both impulse clock correction and coded relay control. This module combines all the features of the 6400-9501 and the 6400-9502 into one module. The 6400-9503 includes the 6400-9501 I/O . Note: The 6400 provides a position for only one optional front module.

6400-9504 Temperature Compensated Crystal Oscillator The 6400-9504 TCXO option is used for applications where power line frequency may be unstable. The temperature compensated crystal module provides a source of frequency reference to the central controller. This module provides accuracy of ±3 seconds per month from 32°F to 122°F.
6400-9505 6351/6400 RS-232 Interface The optional 6400-9505 module is used for applications that require accurate, traceable time. The module is used to interface the 6400 TCC with a crystalcontrolled Simplex 6800-9501 WWV Radio Receiver/Decoder tuned to broadcasts transmitted by the National Institute of Standards and Technology. Additionally the 6400-9505 allows the 6400 TCC to synchronize with computer networks via the 1603-9821 SIMSYNC software package. With the addition of the 6400-9568 BCD Code Converter, 6400 TCCs may be connected together to allow for redundancy or distribution over a campus environment. Refer to data sheet S6800-0001 for details on the WWV receiver.
6400-9510 Chime Module The 6400-9510 module is used when a pulsed output is required. By inputting 120 VAC to the module it will begin on adjustable output pulse, both the on-time and duration of the pulse are adjustable. The output s are 5 A at 120 VAC Form “C.”

6400-9568 BCD Code Converter The 6400-9568 BCD Code Converter is an interface which has asynchronous ASCII and BCD time data available via its RS-232 serial port. The interface provides 24-hour time information, time zone offset capabilities for world clock displays, and synchronization for computers and process control equipment. The following connections are available: • BCD Connections – Two Celestra clocks within 100 feet – Time offset for two Celestra clocks within 100 feet – 2301-9513 Data Amplifier • RS-232 Connections – RS-232 serial ports (for hours/minutes/seconds, year/month/day, and Julian date ) – 6400-9505 RS-232 WWV Synchronization Module – 2120 Interface – 4100 Interface – 6400-9505 MTC Master/Slave Configuration. Refer to Product Application Bulletin PAB-0011 for other interconnect and computer network interface options. – PC Synchronization with 1001-9357 or 1001-7997 STARSYNC Software
Refer to data sheet S6400-0002 and operating instructions 574-411 for complete details on the 6400-9568 Code Converter.
6400-9509 Photocell Module The 6400-9509 Photocell Module is used in conjunction with dual coded time control operation. The Photocell Module (when activated by the Photocell) allows up to 10 preprogrammed commands of the same type (on or off) to be transmitted to Dual Coded Control Devices.
