Barangay Volunteers Spirit of Volunteerism
Who are these Barangay Volunteers?
Honorarium •
A voluntary payment that is given to a person for services for which fees are not legally or traditionally required. Honoraria are typically used to help cover costs for volunteers.
Volunteer •
By definition, "volunteerism is the willingness of people to work on behalf of others without the expectation of pay or other tangible gain". Simply said, "it is offering oneself without payment in return".
Spirit of Volunteerism •
The traditional barrio’s strength lay in the people’s pride of place, solidarity, mutual trust, and spirit of volunteerism.

Barangay Ecological Solid Waste Management Committee (BESWMC) •
Formulate a community solid waste management program, consistent with that of the city/municipality, with policies and plans include strategies such as education, engineering, enforcement and entrepreneurial;
Barangay Human Rights Action Center (BHRAC) •
Complaints Processing regarding Human Rights violations and IEC.
Barangay Peace and Order Council (BPOC) •
Initiate, coordinate and monitor the implementation of peace and order programs and projects at the barangay level;
Participation of NGOs, POs, CSOs in the Barangay It is not merely a partner of the people; it obliges the different groups to participate in consultations.
People’s Participation in Barangay Development Efforts •
