I know it's wrong of me to think of her in that kind of way, but I can't help myself. I watched her grow up from the time she was born and up until now. Hell, I was even the first one to hold her when she was born. Yet I can't help the feelings that is growing inside of me. I want to talk to someone about this, but I don't have to many friends and the ones I do have talk way too much for my liking and it will get back to my best friend. Something I don't won't to happen, her friendship means more to me then my own happiness but how long will I be able to go without acting on my feelings. I was brought out of my thoughts when I heard my assistant calling my name. “Your next client is here.” I nodded my head letting her know she can send my client in. I got myself together and pushed away all my personal problems. Can't have my clients thinking I have lost my mind in here. There was a knock at the door and I told the person on the other side of it to come in. Once the client came in I gave my winning smile and stood up to shake her hand.

“Welcome to Abigail's Law Firm. I'm Abigail Foster.”

“Thank you, I was surprise when my friend told me about the Law Firm. I'm Angie Jones.”

We both took our seats, me sitting behind the desk facing her. I offer her something to drink before we got started because I know how long this is going to take well that depends on what her case is and what happen.

“So, tell me Ms. Jones why are you here?”

“A month ago, I was out shopping with a friend and we went into one of the grocery store to pick up some things for dinner and while walking down one of the aisle I slipped and fell on something wet and come to find out one of the employees had cleaned that aisle. Normally I wouldn't be going through this much trouble to make someone pay but I lost something that was dare to me and I can never get it back. I lost my unborn child that day, and now the company is acting like it's not in the wrong for what happen, and I am even banned from going back into the store.”

I listen to her case and we have a good case going on here but the only thing I need is some proof I wonder if she has any pictures and I would also need the hospital reports. Before I was even able to ask her for these things she begin to speak again.

“I been trying to get so many lawyers to take my case and everyone keep asking for down payments and with the hospital bills, I am out of money and this is the last place I have to turn to.”

“I'm sorry you’re going through all of this. Any lawyer would be crazy to not take your case. Here we don't ask for any money up front. We only get paid when you win your case and if you don't win you don't pay but I am sure you will win this case and might put this store out of business. We will sue for everything, but first do you have any proof of this.”

She nodded her head and pulled out some papers in her bag. I went through them and everything I need is right here. Pictures of when she fell, hospital reports,

police reports and even a statement from her friend who she was with. I smiled at her and told her that she has herself a lawyer. Normally I would the cases down to one of my lawyers in my law firm, but I want to see this case through myself.

“I will write up your case and serve the papers to the store owner myself. I will also need your friend to come to me as well, so I can make sure her statement is the same as it is in the report because they will ask her to make a statement in court.”

“Thank you so much for taking on my case. I know it won't bring my unborn back, but it will help me take care of the hospital bills and be able to pay you as well.”

“Your more than welcome and I am sorry for your lost. I will see you next week before court.”

We said our goodbyes and I made my assistant make sure she left the building okay. I don't need anyone suing me.

Once my assistant was back I told her to cancel everything else for today. I need some time alone and honestly, I needed to see my therapist. She is the only one I can talk to without no one else finding out about my dark secret.

I left my office letting my assistant know she is free for the next two days since I have to fly out to my parents tomorrow. I hate not being at work and I really hate going to my parents. They know I like women and they always try to fix me up with their friend’s daughter. One year I did go along with it and dated one, but it

didn't end well. She was a free loader and I didn't need that in my life. I guess that's why I have a thing for Elizabeth. She is the first woman to have a law degree at the age of 20 and was top of her class.

That is someone I would love to have by my side but how can I when her mom is my best friend.

Don't think of me as some pervert because that's not what I am. I didn't start feeling this till about a year ago, at her 20th birthday and now she is about to be 21 in a few days.

Flash back

I had just made it to the party even though I didn't think I would make it since I was so busy with work but I had promise Elizabeth that I would make it to her party because she kept begging me to come and take a break from working. So here I am walking up to the house where everyone is outside and some inside. I walked inside to see if I can find Elizabeth or Jennifer. It took me a little while to find them, but I finally did. They were outside in the back dancing together having a mother and daughter dance. It looked so beautiful and Liz looked even more beautiful, she was wearing a short white dress with her hair pinned up into a nice bun and a crown to let everyone know that it was her day. I couldn't help but stare at her. It was like I was seeing her for the very first time. She must have felt me staring at her because she turned around and looked at me and gave me her beautiful smile. I could have swearing that my heart stop and started back up. I didn't understand why my heart was beating so fast while she was walking over to me.

“You finally made it. I didn't think you was gone come which was making me feel sad on my special day.”

I gave her a smile and nodded my head because I didn't trust my own voice. I'm lawyer for crying out loud I don't stutter, and I wasn't gone start. We just stood there looking at each other and I was the one who broke the staring contest we were having.

“Here I picked this out for you I hope you like it.”

I waited while she opened her gift and I noticed the biggest smile on her face. You would have thought she had found a pot of gold or something, that's how big her smile was on her face.

“Thank you so much, I been dying to get my hands on one these for so long.”

She pulled me into a tight hug and I was able to smell the body wash she use and even the shampoo she used. I felt like I was in heaven when I was in her arms. Maybe I should buy her all the new iPhone that comes out if she's going to hold me like this.

End of flash back

I finally had made it to my therapist office, lucky me she had an available appointment. I walked into her office and set down on the couch that was available for her clients. I wasn't too sure about talking about this with her but who else can I talk to that will give me advice about what to do with my feelings.

I set here in her office waiting for her to come in. I do her saying that she was finishing up with her other appointment and wanted me to wait in her personal office. You see my therapist is also my baby sister Alice. She always knew when to be professional and when to be a brat. I have three other siblings, there is five of us total and Alice is everyone's favorite, but she is my little Al, and everyone know not to come between us or mess with her, even my parents know when not make her upset.

I turned toward the door as I hear someone opening it from the other side. In walks Alice with a smile on her face.

“Hi, Abbi what brings you here today.”

“I'm having a problem, but I need you to promise me that you won't judge me for what I need help with.”

“I promise I am all ears.”

I nodded my head and begin telling her about the problem I am having. I am not sure what she is thinking as I am telling her all of this. I even told her about what happen at Elizabeth 20th birthday party.

By the time I was done telling her the story I'm sure that my face was as red as a tomato. Just thinking about her makes my heart beat even faster, let alone sitting here talking about her to my sister. I am just hoping that it is a silly crush that I have going on. Maybe it's because I haven't been in a relationship for so long

that my heart picked up on the first person that has been sweet, kind, loving, and oh so beautiful.

“Okay I got it. You’re in love with your best friend's daughter but your trying your hardest to not act on your feelings but you are not even sure if Elizabeth feel the same way about you, but you don't even won't to know because it will be hard to handle. Am I right?”

“Yes, that is what I just said. Alice, I don't know what to do about this. I'm trying my hardest to not even think about the feelings that are inside of me. And it doesn’t even help when Elizabeth always texting me in the morning with these sweet morning text.”

“Maybe she does feel the same about you but is thinking the same as you. You just have it harder because you been friends with her mother for so long and I know you don't won't to mess that up. I can see that this alone is putting a lot of stress on you.”

“Your right, it's been so long since I been this stress. I think I'll just head home and call it an early night. I haven't been sleeping that well.”

I got up and hugged my sister before leaving out of her office.

Maybe I'm just making a big deal out of nothing. I do some time over think things but again what if I am not over thinking things. I can truly lose the one person who been there for me since the day we met. I don't think my heart can take losing Jen.

I drive to get something to eat before heading to the house. A house that is big and lonely. I'm sure Elizabeth will love living here. She always told me she wanted to live closer to the beach. She said she just wanted to be able to see the sunset every night before going to bed. That is one reason why I bought this house. For when her and Jen comes to spend the night.

I pulled myself out of my thoughts when I see my house come into view. I pulled into the driveway and got out of the car. I walked into my house and set at the table and begin to eat the food I got on the way home.

By the time I was down eating I was ready to get into bed, but I needed to shower first. I walked into my room and went into the bathroom and started the shower up. I place my clothes into the clothes hamper and stepped into the shower. I let out a sigh when the hot water touched my body. I can just feel the release of stress easing off my body.

After my shower I set on my bed looking at TV but more of it looking at me while I was stuck in my own thoughts.

Talking to her is just not something I can do. It's her daughter that I love with every part of me. I can't afford to lose her friendship, maybe I should just let this silly crush by.

Before I was done with my own thoughts my phone start to ring. I looked at the screen and seen it was Jennifer calling. I looked at the phone because I wasn't sure if I should answer it or not. Before I was finally about to answer she hung up.

Should I call her back, maybe I should just let it be. I'll call her back tomorrow.

I place my phone on the night stand and laid down in the bed. I hate going to be alone. I wish I was in her arms.

I went to bed with a smile on my face and with her on my mind.

Two

I woke up to the sound of my alarm going off at 5AM. Time for my morning run on the beach. I don't get to eat what I want and keep this kind of body for no reason. I went to my bathroom and did my morning routine. I'll just take my shower after I get back from my run. I put on my running clothes and head out the house. I started my run from the front of the house and all the way to the end of the beach and back again. I did the same thing at least six times.

By the time I got done I was very sweaty and feeling nasty. That is the only thing I don't like about when I run. I really hate being sweaty but for me to have this body I need to do my morning runs and workouts.

I went back into the house and took a shower. Feeling the water run down my body felt so good. After a while of just standing under the water I finally started to wash my body and hair.

Once I was done with my shower I got out and walked into my room while drying off my body and hair. Which I will now have to deal with my curly mess of a hair. I might just let it stay this way. It's been a while since I let anyone see me with my curly hair.

I walked into my closet and grab my black underwear and looked for one of my suits to wear today. I finally picked out one of my all black suits with a white shirt and my black heels. Once I was dressed I walked out of my closet and grab my phone before heading into the kitchen for something quick to eat.

I made a quick breakfast and set down and ate while checking my phone. I notice that I had a few messages. Some from Jennifer, my sisters, and....Elizabeth. I looked them all over and saved Elizabeth for last. I smiled when I read her text.

Good morning Abbi, I know you’re up by now and already had your run and you’re probably sitting at the table having your breakfast before heading into work. I hope you have a great day at work. I wanted to know if I can come stay with you for a few nights.

I froze after I read the last part of her message. She wants to stay the night with me. Just me and her here, by ourselves. That have never happened, it always been her and Jennifer together. Maybe I should say no and tell her I'll be busy with work, but she will see right through me, she always does. Before I knew it, I was texting her back with the answer yes.

Now it's too late to turn back. Maybe I should just keep myself busy while she's here. I'll stay at the office late or maybe even sleep in my room I have there and let her have the house to herself. Is this me just running from the truth of my feelings.

I shook my head and looked at the clock and seen I was running a little late for my first client. I grab my keys and headed out of the house and toward my company.

I walked in and greeted my assistant with a smile. Even when I am having a good day or bad day my assistant keeps me smiling. She is like my little sister. Well after my Alice of course.

The day went by fast and all I was doing was filing some paper work that I needed before court.

It was great that my assistant did the paperwork for me that I needed for Angie Jones case. I grab the papers that I needed to give to the store owner. I grabbed my keys and headed out the office while letting my assistant know that I was stepping out for a while.

I drove to the store she told me about and parked outside of it. I'm pretty sure this owner is going to be a pain in my ass, so I had called up some back up just in case I need someone here with me.

I walked inside the store and headed to the front counter.

“I'm looking for the owner of this store.”

The person at the counter looked up to me with a look that could kill but that didn't bother me. They nodded they head and walked into the back. Not long after they was coming back with a tall man with gray hair.

“I'm the owner, how can I help you?”

I ed him the envelope while smiling. I knew better then to tell them why I was here before giving them the papers because they wouldn't take them. Once they were in his hand and mine was off them. I spoke my reason for why I was

there.

“Your being sued, see you in court next week.”

I walked out of the store with him yelling for me to come back. I laughed at myself because this is the best part of my job. Making companies like his go under.

I stop and grab me and my assistant Lauren something to eat. I walked through the door and headed to Lauren's office. I knocked on the door and walked in carrying the food.

“I bring food.”

“Oh gosh think you so much, I am hungry and was too busy to leave this office. I was making sure your s were up to date.”

I nodded my head and place the chines food on the table in her office. We set at the table and ate together.

“Lauren can I talk to you about something, but it can never leave this office.”

She nodded her head with her mouth full of food.

“Elizabeth asked to stay the night and I was crazy enough to say yes. Now she is at my house, I'm pretty sure waiting for me to come home. I'm not even sure if I am going to the house tonight.”

“Abbi you can't keep running from these feelings you are having. You need to woman up and talk to that girl. You been putting yourself through hell for the past year. You even been pulling yourself away from your best friend and I'm sure her feelings are hurt by it.”

I set there and listen to her and everything she said was true. I have been running from my feelings and I have been pushing Jen away but I'm not even sure if she would understand why I been pushing her away.

We finish dinner and did some more work. Lauren finally made me go home. Right, I'm the boss and I let my assistant tell me what to do but she was right to make me head home.

I walked into the house a little after midnight to see Elizabeth asleep on the couch.

I smiled down at the sight of her. Maybe I should just leave her there but then again it can't be that comfortable sleeping on the couch. I picked her up bridal style and my breath hitch when she wrapped her arms around my neck.

I walked into the room she made her own in here and laid her on the bed. I went to pull away but her hold on my neck tighten.

“Come on Liz I have to go shower.”

Finally, she released her hold and I stood up heading out of the room. I needed a shower and I needed one bad not because of all the work I put in today but because of the thoughts I just had about her while she was in my arms.

I took all my clothes off and jumped into the shower. I turn the water on cold and got under it. Gosh this is not working I need a release and I need one bad.

I grab the shower head and leaned up against the wall. I place the shower head where I needed it to be. I let out a moan. Fuck this feels amazing. Images of her popped in my head and I was getting closer to the edge of my release. I felt my legs getting weaker before I let out a loud moan.

After I finally got my strength back. I took my shower and got out drying off. I grabbed my robe and laid in my bed. I felt my eyes getting heavy and I was out in no time.

I jumped up when I heard my bedroom door being open. I look to see Elizabeth standing there still have half sleep herself. God, she looked amazing in anything and I wish I can have her.

“Sorry if I woke you, was just seeing if you made it in. I know when you get into your work.”

“It's fine, why are you up in the middle of the night?”

“Another one of those dreams I'm always having....”

I can see it in her face that she wanted to say something else but I'm guessing she didn't know how to put it in words. She stood there seeming to be fighting with herself.

“Is there something else you wanted?”

“Yes....can I sleep in here tonight?”

I froze in place. She wanted to sleep in here! In the same bed as me! Has she lost her mind?! I don't think I would be able to breath with her this close to me.

“Um y-yeah sure.”

I moved over in the bed to make enough room for her. Once she got into bed I made sure there was enough space between us so that our body wouldn't teach.

“Goodnight Abbi”

“Goodnight Elizabeth”

Not even five minutes and she is back to sleep. I turned over so that I was face her. I laid there just starring at her. It was like I was trying to every detail of her face. Well the parts that I was able to see.

‘Gosh I love you so much and not in the way that I should. My love for you is so strong that it hurts every time I look at you because I know that I would never be able to have you and I can't lose Jennifer over something that I believe is a crush. Hell, who am I kidding, this is not a crush. This is far more than a crush. I even get jealous when I see you with your girlfriend. I wish it was me that you looked at like that. I wish I was the one making you blush and most of all I wish I was the one you said I love you too. But our love is so forbidden.’

I knew I was not gone be able to go back to sleep because of these thoughts and because of the hurt that I feel inside. I got out of bed doing my best to not wake Elizabeth. I went and brushed my teeth and washed my face before putting on my running clothes. Maybe running would make me feel a little better and would clear my mind before it's time for me to go into work.

I wrote a little note letting her know I went for my run early just in case she wakes up before I am back.

I left out the house and started my run off down the side of the beach.

I did my normal routine which is six laps up and down the beach, but I also pushed myself to run more this time. Anything just to keep me from going back into the house to soon.

It's not like I am avoiding seeing her because I love looking at her beauty, but I

just can't keep hurting myself like this. Maybe I should move away from here or go on a very long vacation after I win this case for Angie.

Yeah that's what I would do. Just give my heart some time to understand what it truly wanted, but I'm sure people around the world could see what I really want, even the people in space is probably starring down at me calling me crazy for not going after what I truly desire.

I finally gave up on running when my house came into view. I made it to the front and just set on the steps. I took some deep breaths trying to get my breathing back to normal. I see why I don't normally push myself that hard. That was not easy work, but it was worth it. I was able to think to myself and even came up with the idea to go on a vacation.

I set outside for almost two hours before going back into the house. When I went inside I looked at the clock and seen that it was only 5 in the morning. Ugh time is so not on my side right now. I thought I killed enough time to get dress and head out but look who want to be an ass and move slow, the dam clock.

I walked into my room and straight into the bathroom. I made sure to close and locked the door since Elizabeth is in my room and I don't won't her to make a mistake and walk in on me. Who am I kidding I would love for her to walk in on me and see everything that she could have.

I jumped into the shower and let the hot water do its work on my body. Once I was done with just sitting under the water I started washing up. By the time I was done with my shower only 30 minutes had ed by. Ugh fuck you time!

I guess I have no choice but to lay down and get some rest if I can. I went over to the bed and laid down on the side that Elizabeth wasn't at. Once I laid down she rolled over and wrapped her arm over me.

I froze up and I can honestly feel myself stop breathing. It was like she literally took my breath away. How can someone do that just be wrapping their arm around you?

I was not going to be able to go sleep now. Not when I could barely breath with her this close. What was she trying to do to me kill me, if so trust me it's working!

Three

With Elizabeth staying here at the house I haven't been sleeping well. That first night she stayed here I believe was the best sleep I have ever had. I know she didn't mean to wrap her arm around me like that, but it was the first time I slept like that in so many years. That is my own fault, I haven't let anyone get close to me since my last relationship. Look at me now, driving myself crazy for a girl I cannot have and would never have in a million years. Maybe I should do what Alice told me to do. In her words ‘Stop being a bitch and woman up and tell that girl how you feel!’ I never heard Alice speak like that before I was surprise when I heard it.

I took in some deep breaths before walking into the kitchen where I know Elizabeth is at. I stood there watching her cook and sing along to the music she is playing.

I know I look like a creep right now but everything she do is beautiful in her own little way. After I have watched her for a good five minutes I cleared my throat to get her attention.

“May I talk to you for a minute.”

“Sure, just let me turn the stove down”

I nodded my head and walked into the living room and set on the couch while waiting for her. I'm not even sure how I will start this conversation off.

“So, what would you like to talk about?”

“I um...I'm not even sure if this is a good idea but I really need to get it out there before I drive myself crazy.”

“Just tell me I'm sure it's not that bad.”

I took in a deep breath before speaking again. It's now or never.

“I'm in love with you and I have been for over a year now but I know it's so wrong to be in love with you because your Jennifer's daughter and she is my best friend and I don't know what to do and I'm losing my dam mind trying to understand why do I feel this way about you.”

I finally said what I needed to say, and I feel so much better. I feel like a big weight was just lifted off my shoulders and now I can breathe again.

I looked at Elizabeth and she seem to be stuck in shock. I'm not even sure if that's a good sign or anything. Ugh why did I listen to Alice in the first fucking place. I waited for another few minutes to see if she was gone say something, but she wasn’t I grabbed my keys and ran out of the house and jumped into the car. I'm not sure where I'm going I just need to get away from here.

I have never been good with rejection that's why I waited so long to even tell her. I couldn't handle my heart breaking over someone I never had in the first place

and that is what I feel right now. Hurt, pain, and rejection.

My vision started getting blurry and I can feel the tears falling. I know I'm not supposed to be driving this way, but I just couldn't pull my foot off the gas. I wanted to keep going. I wanted to be as far away as I can get but I didn't see the car run the red light. I couldn't hit the break fast enough and before I knew it my car was spinning out of control and the breaks gave out on me and all I was able to see next was darkness.

I'm not sure where I'm at but I do know that my body is in so much pain. It feels like my body has been ripped apart and put back together. I finally open my eyes to come face to face with nothing but white walls. I looked around in the room and seen some nurses, so I must be at a hospital.

“Finally, your awake. How do you feel?”

“My head hurts like crazy, what happen?”

“You were in an accident, what's your name?”

“Abigail Foster”

“What year is it Ms. Foster?”

“Well of course it's 2018”

“I'm glad to know you still have you’re . You hit your head pretty hard, I was just surprise you didn't go through the window because you weren’t wearing a seat belt.”

“Well glad I didn't because I wouldn't be able to finish my case.”

I listen to the nurse as she was telling me that the driver who hit me died on the scene before they got there. They also found out that it was a drunk driver. They lucky they did die on the scene because I would have sued for everything they had which I am pretty sure would have drove them to suicide. I chuckle to myself which made the nurses look at me like I had grown two heads.

“Is everything okay Ms. Foster?”

“Yes, I just need something for this pain and when can I go?”

“Well you just have a small concussion, so you are free to go tomorrow morning, but you do have someone waiting to see you would like me to send them in?”

I nodded my head. While waiting for whoever is out there to come in one of the other nurses gave me something for the pain. There was a small knock on the door before it was pushed open. I waited for the person to come into view. There stood Elizabeth with a worried look on her face.

I can feel my heart rate speeding up and the machine was picking up on it which

made the nurse run over to me. If only she knew why my heart rate went up like this.

“Try to breath Ms. Foster.”

I did as I was told and took some deep breaths and got my heart rate back to normal. Once it was good the nurses left the room leaving me and Elizabeth in here alone. I did everything I could to not look at her. I felt embarrassed, rejected, hurt and alone. Everything you can think of I felt it.

“Look at me Abigail”

Well dam she never called me Abigail unless it was serious. I did as she wished and looked at her. I'm sure she can see everything that I am feeling within my eyes. I never let myself be this vulnerable and I wasn't sure if I should, but I can never hide the truther from her.

“Why did you leave? Why didn't you wait? Why didn't you give me the chance to respond?”

She asked question after question and not once let me answer them. Did I even have a good enough reason to why I left like that? Yes of course I did. She didn't say nothing for over five minutes, was I supposed to just sit there and wait. I know that it takes a little minute to get over a shock, but I needed to know something right then and there and she didn't give me that.

“Honestly, I felt embarrassed, rejected and everything else. How was I supposed to react to that? My first mind was to leave. I didn't even know where I was going but now I see where I landed.”

“But you can't blame me for the shock I was in. I was shock because you felt that way, but I was also in shock because you felt the way I always dreamed and hope for, but I never made that move because I didn't know how you seen me. As you said before I am your best friend’s daughter.”

Now it was my turn to be in shock. She really felt the same way as me. I didn't think it was possible for us to share the same feelings. I thought she would have just rejected me and told me she didn't feel that way.

After my shocked I had a big smile on face, but it didn't last long. It went away when I that I was sitting here talking to Jennifer's daughter about our feelings. How can we tell her something like this? Maybe I shouldn't take it any further than this. Maybe I can just live with knowing that she feels the same way as I do.

“What's wrong? Your frowning.”

“I'm happy that I am not the only one with these feelings, but I am also sad that this could never be. We could never be as one. There can never be an us.”

“Why not? We both want to be with each other. We feel the same for each other. This can work, I know it can.”

I shook my head no because I know the truth with this, this will end bad. She came and set on the bed with me pulling my hands into hers. I squeezed her hands and looked up at her.

“I'm sorry Liz but we both know it can't be. Your mother is my best friend and I can never betray her like that. And I see how your girlfriend look at you, she is in love with you just like I am. I can never hurt someone just to make myself happy. I can never take you away from her. Can't we just live knowing that what we feel goes both ways.”

She shook her head no. She was not giving up on this, I can see it in her tears. Oh, how I hate to see her cry, but this has to be for the best, right?

“I can't go on knowing what I been feeling since I was 19 is not just a crush or lust but knowing that you feel the same makes everything seem so much better. Makes my feelings for you seem less crazy. I don't know why I grow these feelings for you, but I have. You can't expect me not to act on them.”

I lift my hand up and wiped away her tears that's been falling. I'm not sure what to say right now because I already said it all. I don't expect her to forget about her feelings, but she can't expect me to betray Jennifer.
