Invitation Letter Dear Teresa Tyler, We are pleased to inform you that you have been appointed to serve as a Reader at the College Board's 2015 AP® English Lit Reading. Invitations are extended annually, and this invitation is for the June 2015 AP Reading only. Participating in the AP Reading is an opportunity to: •
Exchange ideas with faculty, teachers, and AP Development Committee
•
Establish lifelong friendships with other professionals in your discipline
•
Become familiar with AP scoring standards, which provide valuable knowledge for scoring your own students' essays For your participation in the AP Reading, you will have the opportunity to earn Continuing Education Units (CEUs). As the AP Reading is a learning event, the outcomes expected are as follows:
•
Recognize criteria to meet each score point contained within the rubric
•
Identify the correct score point to be applied based on prescribed criteria
•
Apply the scoring rubric consistently and accurately to a wide range of constructed responses Successful completion for CEUs requires proficiency in the above listed learning outcomes. Although full-time attendance is required, events may happen during the Reading (e.g., illness or family emergency) that could reduce your attendance. CEUs may be earned if a minimum of 85 percent attendance is completed. Please respond to the online invitation and complete the online registration form within three weeks to indicate whether you are able to accept this appointment. If your response is not received within three weeks, your access to the website will expire and another Reader will be appointed in your place. If you miss the response deadline, us at 1-888-9-AP-READ or via email to request an extension. Reading Schedule: The AP Reading will be held over a seven-day period at one of four sites within the United States. Note: The daily Reading schedule for 2015 is 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
