First of all i’d like to introduce my self my name is nur fatimah azzahra. Okay guys, today i will going to talk about genetic structuralisme theory. Why i choose this topic because this topic has relationship with our subject that is subject sociology of literature and american literature that talk about literary not only an imaginative fact and personal imagination. Okay, i will explain about what is the Genetic structuralism. Genetic structuralism by Lucian Goldmann is a branch of literary research that gives attention to both intrinstic and extrinsic element. The person who introduces genetic structuralism for the first time was Taine, “Taine believe that literary works is not only an imaginative fact and personal imagination, but also a reflection of culture record, a shape of certain mind when literary work was created”. His view than developed through socialogical literary study. Goldmann is the one who developed genetic structuralism in his view human facts are structures that have meaning. All activity of human being ia a response from individual or collective subject in certain situation representing creation to modification situations in order to fit in with the aspiration. By understanding literary text and disregarding author as the meaning giver will be incomplete and loose the identity and values that has ben used by the author in he certain social and cultural condition of society. Lucian Goldmann a romanian theorist based in rejected the idea that texts are creation of individual genius and argued that they are based upon transindividual mental structure belonging to particular group or classes. To sustain his theory Goldmann develop set categories that connect each other , which are Fact of Humanity, the collective and world view. Lets turn to the first point. The first point is fact of humanity is all of the result of activity or human behavior, both verbal and physical. Activity or human behavior must adjust to the life of the neighborhood. The individuals come together to form a community. With society, humans can adapt to the environment. Humans and the surrounding environment are always in a process of reciprocal structuration conflicting but complementary at the same time. Therefore, the fact that humanity is a meaningful structure. Then subject Collective, Subject Collective subject is part of humanity in addition to the fact the individual subject . Humanity facts arise because of human activity as the subject . The author is a subject that is in the middle of society . Therefore there are in fact human society . Literary works created by the author . Thus the literary work is more of a duplication of the fact that humanity has been mixed by the author . All ideas can be regarded as a representative author of a social group . Therefore, assessment of the literature can not be separated with the author to get a thorough sense . And the last is World View , Goldmann also developed the concept of a world view that can be manifested in literature and philosophy. According to him, the categorical structure which is a whole complex of ideas,

aspirations, and feelings, Understanding of the literary work is an attempt to understand the mix of elements intrinsic and extrinsic elements. In conclusion, i’d like to emphasize that is genetic strusturalisme is not only an imaginative fact and personal imagination but also a reflection of culture record, a shape of certain mind when literary work was created consist the categories there are fact of humanity, subject collective and world view.
